Dear Parents,
We hope your school year is off to a great start! We are so thankful for our amazing parents and caregivers that support all of our Lincolnwood Superstars! As the school year gets underway, we want to share the various ‘asks’ you will receive to support your student’s classrooms and teachers in the coming year.
Room Reps
In order to enable Room Reps to better support classrooms this year, we are requesting a suggested donation of $10 for grades K-4th. Fifth grade will have a separate fund and budget due to their unique needs and events.
The donation will enable Room Reps to support classroom parties and activities throughout the year. Depending on the class/grade, these may cover seasonal celebrations, 100-day parties, or other special celebrations for your child’s class.
We understand that it is not always possible to donate now, and please know there will be many opportunities throughout the year to donate your time or supplies, or just send an excited student to school!
5th Grade Transition
Lincolnwood and the PTA put together an array of events to provide your 5th grader an exciting send-off! The 5th grade transition team will have information out in the near future requesting a contribution that will cover the 5th grade yearbook, special end of year events, the 5th grade movie video, and, if you are interested, a separate $20 donation towards a class gift.
Teacher Appreciation
We were so grateful for your generosity last year in celebrating our educators!! It meant so much to them to receive money before winter break, especially to our paras and other educators who don't normally receive gifts. We loved being able to provide the staff with delicious meals throughout the year and were so pleased to see how many parents signed up to donate a dish or money. All donations pass directly to Lincolnwood educators and are a way to show our gratitude. Here is an overview of what will be asked of families this year:
Staff Appreciation Lunches & Breakfasts
- November - 4th & 5th grade families
- March - 2nd & 3rd grade families
- May - K & 1st grade families
- Grade level families will be asked to donate money, food, paper goods, or their time.
Conference Dinners
- October - K, 1st, and 2nd Grade Families
- February - 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families
- Grade level families will be asked to donate a dessert or paper goods. The PTA will fund a catered dinner for all certified staff members.
Educator Appreciation Winter Gift
- Early December - Families will be asked to donate to the gift fund. All proceeds will be equally distributed to all Lincolnwood staff members.
Teacher Appreciation Week
- May 4th-6th - Families will be asked to make cards for their classroom teacher.
We have already asked for donations for the Back-to-School breakfast.
If you have any questions or would like to join the educator appreciation committee (we are always looking for extra hands!), please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your generosity. We look forward to showering our educators with delicious meals, winter gifts, and lots of kind words throughout the year!
